LAUNCH OF GUBA – ASAMOAH GYAN

Asamoah Gyan’s manager, Denta, launched her magazine, GUBA, with the support of the celebrated footballer himself and Ama K. Abebrese, who was featured in the magazine’s first edition.

Published in the UK, GUBA is a business and entertainment monthly which would be sold in Ghana, the UK and the Unites States. Apart from focusing on how to set up businesses, or entertainment events in both Ghana and the UK, it goes further into health issues and has a pro-African note throughout its pages. There is a recruitment section for jobs as well.

Asamoah Gyan is used as the face of this magazine primarily to promote its birth. As planned, using the face of this charismatic, fun-loving, and popular footballer would secure a successful launch. Other faces would be used in subsequent editions.

The attention of the public, however, was not solely on the magazine, as expected. Many questions were thrown to the stellar footballer, such as his combination of music and football, and any plans of leaving Sunderland.

The launch was brought to a close as copies of the magazine that were bought were autographed by Asamoah Gyan. The magazines are sold for 8 Ghana Cedis and are available in the Accra Mall and other outlets.
